2014 Summer Beauty Guide

Summer is my favorite season!

It’s the only season where one can strut around in a bra and panty set (aka a bikini) with a mojito in hand and high heals. (Well, I take that back, you can do that all year round in LA).

My makeup routine shifts quite a bit in the summer, and I’d love to share!

For my summer makeup routine, protection is most important. Therefore, I invest in a good sunscreen to wear under my makeup. (At the very least, it prevents aging!) I’ve already talked about Supergoop!’s fabulous CC Cream, which I wear when I’m running out the house. However, when I have a bit more time to apply my makeup, I use Laura Mercier’s foundation primer – protect broad spectrum spf 30 as well as a very light layer of Laura Mercier’s crème smooth foundation. The combination of the two lasts all day long, and the creme foundation has a nice finish, so that I do not look too oily.

Blush & Color

Spring was all about orchid hues (which I adored very much). However, the summer requires a cheeky pop. I’m loving Blush Subtil Pallet in Nectar Lace by Lancome. The pallet includes an all-In-One Contour, Blush & Highlighter. Screenshot 2014-06-07 18.28.51

I’m sorry, but I am devoted to YSL’s Dessin Des Levres Lip Liner No. 21. The color is so, so pretty, I can barely stand it. I wear the liner as a lipstick. Also, I keep my lips hydrated with Smith’s Rosebud Salve Balm.

Blush Subtil Pallet in Nectar Lace by Lancome can also be used on the eyes. While some may love ostentatious eye colors this summer, I prefer corals & orchids this summer with a bit of highlighter. And of course, a great mascara!

Do you have any recommendations for a great sunscreen? Please share!
